Composition commission for Therese Ladegaard’s film ‘All these summers’ (UK/Denmark). It was shortlisted for the New:vision award at the CPX:DOX in Copenhagen (2025).
In this intimate documentary, Therese films two men who, like her, are awake at 4 am. As her father faces a cancer diagnosis and battles the depression that kept him distant during her youth, she feels compelled to document this pivotal moment in both their lives. Alongside this, she turns her camera on her reclusive Greek Cypriot neighbor, Pete, whose life she becomes increasingly fascinated by. Through Pete’s solitude, Therese explores the isolation her father feels, her own need for connection, and the profound relationship between filmmaker and subject.
Filmed in long takes and structured episodically, All These Summers challenges ideas of responsibility in life and cinema. It’s a deeply personal and raw exploration of the father-daughter dynamic and the filmmaker’s role in telling such intimate stories.
